Always Laugh

This fall, I had the opportunity of photographing many clients who have been married 10+ years. Those couples have to be my favorite…and I’ll tell you why. Im sure, throughout the years, the spotlight may have snuck away from them and shown onto children and other things. Bam. Stick them in front of the camera and the best thing ever happens. They get back to a moment in time where they’re feeling just like they were on their engagement day or wedding. Its beyond the cutest thing! I also love chatting with my client-friends whilst photographing. I get to hear about their love story, their families…etc.  Some couples are giddy and flirty but most are nervous, not sure what to do in front of the camera, kind of nervous. I TOTALLY GET THAT!  I have been there, done that. Though, those moments turn out the best. Such sweet, innocent laughter. A moment that brings them back to their engagement or wedding day. This was one of those moments. At the end of the session, I asked them why they are always smiling and laughing whenever I see them? And they said “Why not? Whats the point of being mad or upset?”

I love that answer:)

Baby Jude, our little warrior

My nephew was born July 10th, 2014, the tiniest thing ive ever seen…also the sweetest. Jude Rowen Perde was born at 2lb 9 oz with Hypoplastic Single Right Heart Syndrome, Pulmonary Atresia, and Tricuspid Atresia. Laura was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia in her third trimester and doctors realized baby stopped growing at 29 weeks. Laura was 33 weeks when OB decided to do an emergency cesarian. Shortly after, through ultrasound, they found the multiple heart defects. It is so very critical at this time as very specific medication is keeping him alive. Because the complexity of the heart, it is unknown if they can repair his heart with a series of surgeries or if he’ll need a heart transplant. This is what my sister Laura and Danny wrote:

“One week ago God blessed us with our sweet Jude Rowan. After he was born, the doctors heard that he had a heart murmur. After doing an ultrasound, they saw that he only has only one ventricle in his heart. At that time they weren’t sure if he had the pulmonary artery needed to survive. The doctors told us that he wouldn’t make it if he didn’t have that artery. We prayed hard that they would find the artery and the next morning they informed us that he did not have the artery but instead they found collateral ducts that are acting like his pulmonary artery, which are providing circulation to his lungs. We had the scare of our lives and felt our world crashing down, but we were anchored in faith knowing God was in control. Shortly after, Jude was transported to the NICU at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital where doctors diagnosed him with multiple heart defects. He has Hypoplastic Single Right Heart Syndrome, Pulmonary Atresia, and Tricuspid Atresia. Because of the complexity of heart issues, at this point we are unsure whether or not they will conduct a series of surgeries to fix his heart or if he will need a heart transplant. Jude needs to gain some weight, approximately 2 kilos, before they can move forward with fixing his heart. We believe that God will heal little Jude’s heart! We’ve seen God’s hand work greatly through this time. He’s has given us incredibly strength that sustains us. He has also showered us immensely with His goodness and grace during this time. Thank you to all of you who have come alongside of our family in prayer and support! Our hearts are full of gratitude for all the love pouring out. Happy 1 week birthday to our little heart warrior!”

I am so very very encouraged by their faith at this time. They truly are leaning on Christ and not on their own understanding. We have faith God will use baby Jude for his Glory and lives will be touched. Please continue to pray for Jude and his family. We are using hashtag #prayersforjude on IG, TWITTER and FACEBOOK. Also, if you feel led to support this family financially, there is a gofundme account that has been set up for medical expenses. Thank you so much for your continual prayer and love poured out on our family.:)
